CORPORAL REQUIREMENTS

WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES:

Corporals at the Agency, under the general supervision of a higher-ranking officer, are responsible and accountable for the supervision of subordinates. They instruct and counsel subordinates in their duties; are responsible for subordinates’ general appearance, punctuality, attendance, productivity, good order, and discipline; supervise activity at the operational level, and performance; perform all additional functions prescribed for rank by relevant laws, rules, procedures, orders or directives of the Agency; perform special duties or assignments as directed by the Chain of Command at his/her discretion; and perform related duties.

Corporals make required notifications and other communications; monitor subordinates; assess site area and coordinate activities on the site; conduct preliminary searches/investigations; direct arrest and detention procedures; safeguard evidence and property; safeguard/inspect agency property; evaluate personnel and recommend actions; and train and counsel subordinates.

ELIGIBILITY TO TAKE EXAMINATION*:

This examination is open to each employee of American Paratus Security Agency who on the date of the test:

              1. holds Commissioned Security Officer License; and

              2. has served as a permanent employee with American Paratus Security Agency for a period totaling Six months,

              or as former law enforcement, corrections, or military service for a period of at least one year.

              3. is not otherwise ineligible.

GUARANTEE OF EXAMINATION:

All qualified individuals may apply for consideration to take the examination. Applying for consideration to take the examination does not guarantee admission to the examination. Only individuals who receive an Admissions Notice will be permitted to take the examination. Completion and passing of the examination do not guarantee promotion to Corporal.
