American Paratus Security Agency is a small family-owned and veteran-operated private security agency that was founded in 2014. Security Officers are our most valuable asset. Our Security Officers are responsible for monitoring and conducting foot patrols on construction sites, apartment complexes, hospitality locations, retail sites, and many others. A Mobile Patrol Security Officer is an individual who currently holds an active Commissioned (Armed) Security Officer License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

 

 

Commissioned Security Officer Job Responsibilities:

Our clients rely on us to protect and secure their assets by providing the most professional service possible. To achieve that goal our Security Officers are required to perform some basic duties while on duty in addition to site-specific instruction.

  • Presents losses and damages by reporting irregularities and informing violators of the client’s policy and procedures.

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points.

  • Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior.

  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.

  • Interview witnesses and obtain signatures as needed.

  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.

  • Maintains the organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.

  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.

  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

 

Work Hours:

This position consists of 2 shifts. Shifts depend on the assigned area you are scheduled for. Shift consists of 8 hours and is between 21:00 and 06:00 (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 am) for 4 to 5 days.

 

 

Mobile Patrol Commissioned Security Officer Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be able to drive for prolonged times while on duty.

  • Must be able to walk for prolonged times while on duty.

  • Communication Skills.

  • Be punctual to shift.

  • Maintain a professional appearance.

  • Stay alert during your shift.

  • Must possess a legal Semi-Auto Firearm with Level 3 Duty Holster.

  • Must have valid Firearms / Weapons protection plan (Click for more info).

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s license.

  • Must have a current Commissioned Security Officer License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

  • Must have current motor vehicle insurance.

  • Clean Background Check.

  • Dependable Transportation.

  • Smartphone with active service to perform required tasks while on duty.

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in security or related field.

    • Must have successfully completed the following courses prior to being assigned a patrol area.

    • Vehicle Patrol & Accident Prevention (Click for more info)​.

    • Defensive & Distracted Driving for Leo (Click for more info).

  • Must complete a firearms qualification course upon hiring.​

  • Must have a clean driving record with no infractions or accidents with the last 5 years.

 

 

State Registration and Training:

The applicant is responsible for all fees associated with training and licensure.
